Boy cited for shooting windows

An 11-year-old Welch boy was cited for property damage after shooting out the windows on moving vehicles, the Red Wing Police Department reported.

Motorist Peter Cook, Red Wing, reported that he had been driving in the 700 block of Plum Street Nov. 16 at about 4:30 p.m. when the front passenger-side window shattered.

First Student, 714 Bench St., reported that a bus was driving in the same block at about 4:40 p.m. when a window near the back of the bus was shot out. A girl had been sitting in the seat near the window, but was not injured.

Police located a BB gun in the area and apprehended the boy a short time later. He was released to his mother after being cited.
