Red Wing woman to volunteer in Ghana orphanage

A Red Wing woman will travel to Ghana over Christmas to volunteer in an orphanage.

Rachel Harder will leave for the African country Dec. 13 and return Dec. 29. She will be traveling with Kristina Grundmanis of Minneapolis. The women are seniors studying psychology at the University of Minnesota-Morris.

“We both hold an innate desire to help others,” the women said. “We wish to further expand on this desire by volunteering in a Ghanaian orphanage.”

In order to cover travel expenses and to donate to the orphanage, the women hope to raise $5,000.
