Additional math teacher approved
Red Wing School Board approved 6-0 a motion Monday authorizing the hiring of a part-time math teacher to help address class size issues at Red Wing High School.
The motion included a stipulation that the part-time position will only be filled if a qualified, licensed candidate can be found. The part-time teacher would start at the beginning of second semester.
Parents raised concerns about math class sizes at the high school earlier this fall. The board sent the issue to the personnel committee for review. The committee recommended hiring a part-time teacher at its Oct. 22 meeting.
