At their meeting Tuesday, commissioners recognized Goodhue County Public Works Director Greg Isakson for earning the 2012 Transportation Alliance Advocacy Award.

“I had no idea that I was in the running for this award,” Isakson said.

“It’s well deserved. And Greg — he’s very well-known and respected by all of the people at that alliance,” Chair Richard Samuelson noted.

The honor is one of many Isakson has earned throughout his career. He was named Outstanding County Engineer by the Minnesota County Engineers Association in 2005 and recognized as the Rural County Engineer of the Year by the National Association of County Engineers in 2010.
