Incumbent John Kline and challenger Mike Obermueller are seeking the U.S. House of Representatives seat for the 2nd District, which saw some changes after redistricting early this year.

The district had grown too much and needed to lose about 70,000 constituents to keep it equal with others throughout the state. It kept Goodhue, Dakota and Scott counties along with the southern part of Washington County, picked up Wabasha County and dropped Carver and Le Suer counties and much of Rice County.

Kline was elected to Congress in 2002, and Obermueller is a former Minnesota House of Representatives member.

These questions and answers are selected from a set sent by the Minnesota Newspaper Association to all congressional candidates.
