Holding onto a 15-0 lead at halftime, fourth-seeded Plainview-Elgin-Millville’s offense exploded for 35 second-half points to advance in the Section 1AAA tournament with a dominating 50-0 victory over fifth-seeded Zumbrota-Mazeppa Tuesday in Plainview.
Led by a two-touchdown performance by running back Eric Rahman, the Bulldogs featured a balanced attack that saw six different players reach the end zone.
With the victory, P-E-M heads to top-seeded Rochester Lourdes. The Eagles opened the section playoffs with a 41-16 win over No. 8 Pine Island.
The Cougars end the year with a 4-5 record.
