Lock & Dam will close by Dec. 3
U.S. Lock & Dam No. 6 near Trempealeau, Wis., will close Dec. 3 for winter renovations.
U.S. Lock & Dam No. 6 near Trempealeau, Wis., will close Dec. 3 for winter renovations. As a result, locks and dams north of Lock 6 — including U.S. Lock & Dam No. 3 at Red Wing — will close on Dec. 3, if not earlier.
Lock 6 will be dewatered so that scheduled maintenance such as repairing concrete, painting gates and replacing the bubbler system can be done. It is scheduled to reopen March 11.
