To the Editor:

We are fortunate that Paul Drotos has stepped forward to serve Goodhue County. He will bring fresh perspectives, insight and energy to the County Board.

A 2010 survey of public institution boards shows the average number of consecutive terms is two. The average length of terms is 5.7 years. If re-elected, Paul Drotos’ opponent, Ted Seifert, will have served 14 years.

Drotos’ dedicated passion is to conserve our environment for current and future generations. He has the training, experience and willingness to challenge powerful financial interests. Citizens united and working with dedicated leaders can make a difference like when our riverfront was saved from development.

If we cherish our unspoiled water, air and bluffs, if we wish Goodhue County to remain a safe, beautiful environment in which to live and raise families, then the choice is clear.

I urge the voters of District 5, Goodhue County, to vote for Paul Drotos who will deliver the new ideas and the fresh perspectives our citizens deserve.

Drotos brings an analytical approach to issues like frac sand mining and that will lead to problem solving over the next four years.
