Letter: Howe has proven to be influential state leader

To the Editor:

During the past year I have enjoyed watching John Howe successfully work for Minnesota in our state Senate. As an effective leader, he was able to work across party lines to help solve the state’s critical fiscal problem by turning a $6 billion budget deficient into a $1 billion surplus. While doing this, he was most concerned about keeping our taxes low and still meets the needs of Minnesota.

Howe has the experience of running his own business and knows what is required for economic growth and creation of jobs in the private sector. He is also a leader in efforts to simplify government regulations to keep businesses in Minnesota.

Howe is not committed to any private group and works for all of us. He believes the people own the state and not special interest groups. This was evidenced by his leadership actions concerning the issue of sand mining in southeastern Minnesota.

We need to send Howe back to the state Senate to continue his efforts for a growing Minnesota economy and clean environment. Please join me in the re-election of John Howe to the Senate.
