In its final Hiawatha Valley League match of the regular season, Cannon Falls put an exclamation point on the conference season Tuesday with a three-set victory over Pine Island in Cannon Falls. The Bombers swept the match 25-12, 25-8, 25-14.
“It was just a great ending to the regular season,” said Cannon Falls head coach Melissa Huseth.
“It’s been a pretty exciting year,” Huseth added. “It was kind of a record-setting year for as long as I’ve been keeping stats. It’s probably the best season we’ve had in the HVL.”
After breaking 1,000 career set assists last week at Rochester Lourdes, Lydia Franken added to her career total with 22 set assists on Tuesday. Hailey Huseth and MaKenzie Franklin capitalized with 10 and seven kills, respectively. Franklin also had a pair of ace blocks for Cannon Falls.
The Bombers (19-4, 11-2 HVL) end the regular season Friday at the Exchange Club Fall Invitational tournament in Rochester.
