Dickerson, Egan contenders for mayor

Current Red Wing Mayor Dennis Egan and challenger LaVergne Dickerson share concerns about economic development in Red Wing, among other issues.
The two are vying for the spot that Egan has filled since a February 2011 special election.
In conversations so far, Egan has highlighted budgeting and promoting economic development as major topics for the city’s future, while Dickerson has said she want to increase citizen involvement and participation in government decisions.
The mayor candidates will face many other issues for the city as well while weighing the role of the office and use of veto power.
