Fridell, Rauterkus vie for City Council seat

The combined Ward 3 and 4 Red Wing City Council race features current council President Ralph Rauterkus and candidate Erik Fridell.
Fridell, who serves on the Sustainability Commission, has said one of his main goals in running is to promote open and transparent government. Rauterkus has said he has and wants to continue working in a fiscally prudent way and make changes such as restoring a police officer position.
The two also must face issues such as the incinerator, where they generally agree, the golf course, where opinions differ and repairing and maintaining the city’s infrastructure.
