Boys Soccer: Wingers bow out of section playoffs

Coming into the Section 1A tournament, the No. 9-seeded Red Wing boys soccer team was hoping its 5-1 record against section opponents would carry on in the first round against No. 8 Schaeffer Academy.
But the Wingers were unable to get past the Lions, as Red Wing’s season came to an end in a 2-1 loss Tuesday in Rochester.
With the victory, Schaeffer Academy (8-7) will take on top-seeded Rochester Lourdes on Thursday.
Red Wing ends the 2012 season with a 6-8-1 record.
