Cross-Country: Bombers compete at Rahman Invite

Like she has done all season, Cannon Falls junior cross-country runner Emi Trost picked up another victory in the Jodi Rahman Invitational in Plainview on Tuesday.
Running at a mile pace of 5 minutes, 55 seconds, Trost took first place in the 4,000-meter race with a time of 14:41.2, beating second-place finisher Kayla Woltz of Chatfield by nearly 35 seconds.
As a team, the Bombers finished in fifth place with 138 points. Following Trost, teammate Katherine Hoffman finished in 15th place at 17:14.4, while Amber Edwards (18:01.5) and Emma Thomley (18:21.5) finished in 33rd and 39th place, respectively.
Dover-Eyota, ranked No. 6 in Class A, had all five of its runners finish in the top 10 to win the meet with a team score of 30. Winona Cotter took second place with 94 points.
In the boys’ race, Tyler Wilson led Cannon Falls to a 10th-place finish with 242 points. Wilson finished in 36th place with a time of 18:35.6, while Bjorn Pearson (19:03.6) and Connor Rohr (19:05.1) finished back-to-back in 44th and 45th place, respectively.
Taking first place was Plainview-Elgin-Millville senior Pat Reinschmidt, who is ranked No. 9 in Class A. Reinschmidt finished with a time of 16:30.3, over six second better than the second-place runner, Kingsland’s Richard Swanson.
Winona Cotter, which had four racers finish in the top 13, won the team title with a score of 40, beating P-E-M by 24 points. St. Charles (104) rounded out the top three.
