A passenger van hit a guardrail Sunday evening, injuring seven people, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The crash happened just after 8 p.m. on U.S. Highway 10 in Trimbelle Township. According to the sheriff’s department, fatigue caused driver Kenny Vang, 44, St. Paul, to sideswipe a guardrail.

Seven of the van’s multiple occupants suffered injuries ranging from stiff necks to severe back pain and were transported to either Regina Hospital in Hastings or River Falls Area Hospital.

Multiple ambulances from the surrounding area were requested due to the high number of patients. Assisting on scene were Ellsworth, Prescott and River Falls ambulance services and the Ellsworth Fire Department.

There was minor damage to the van, a 2013 Ford Ecoline, and the guardrail.
