Lake City woman earns award

A Lake City woman received second place in a contest put on by the Brainerd Writer’s Alliance for the group’s Fall Writer’s Festival.

Kate Halvorson’s story “Game Played” earned second place in the creative nonfiction category. She will give a reading at the upcoming festival Oct. 27 at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minn.
