Goodhue finished eighth at the Byron Invitational Saturday.
The Wildcats went 1-4 on the day as Chatfield won the tournament and Byron took second.
Goodhue lost its first match of the day 25-18, 25-17 to Chatfield, dropped the second match 25-21, 25-7 to Fillmore Central and fell 25-22, 25-23 to Kenyon-Wanamingo in the third match. In the Wildcats’ final match during pool play, they defeated Pine Island 21-25, 25-23, 15-6.
During the seventh-place match, Goodhue took Triton to three sets before losing 25-21, 14-25, 15-11.
The Wildcats (7-15, 4-6 HVL) travel to face La Crescent Tuesday.
