Sirens will be tested Tuesday afternoon

Warning sirens in the city of Red Wing and surrounding area will be tested and activated at 1 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 9 for about 30 seconds.

The test is to verify that the sirens activate properly after having recent changes made to them. Do not call Goodhue County Dispatch or take any emergency precautions upon hearing them during the test.

In the case of a real emergency, the sirens would be activated for three minutes.
