Schmidt pleads guilty in Walmart robbery

According to a court complaint filed April 23, Schmidt robbed entered Walmart, 295 S. Tyler Road, and used a BB gun to rob an employee. After the robbery, a second man, Andrue David Landmark, 22, 280 Motel Ave., and Schmidt fled the scene in a red pickup, leading officers on an 85-to-90-mph pursuit along County Road 1, the complaint said.
A jury trial for Schmidt, scheduled to begin Oct. 15, has been canceled.
Landmark also pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated robbery and will be sentenced Nov. 30. A third man involved, Dylan Timothy Hanson, 20, 725 Bluff St., pleaded guilty to a similar charge and was sentenced Sept. 14 to one year in Goodhue County Jail.
