Letter: Schmit will get work done

To the Editor:

We have known Matt Schmit and his family for as long as we have lived in Red Wing. They are honest, hardworking people and we are proud to call them our friends. Matt is a successful small business owner who has experience bringing people together to get things done. He would represent our community well in St. Paul.

We believe in Matt so much that we have helped him knock on over 15,000 doors in Senate District 21 over the past few months. Our message is simple: We need to make Minnesota work again.

At the doors, our fellow Minnesotans tell us they don't want another government shutdown or another Legislature that passes the buck on important decisions. They say that compromise is more important than toeing the party line. Most of all, they tell us they want our elected officials to lead.

We agree, and that is why we will continue to knock on doors for Matt - and it's why Matt Schmit has our vote for state Senate Nov. 6.
