Still looking for its first Missota Conference match, the Red Wing volleyball team lost its 12th straight contest after getting swept by Northfield on Thursday.

The Raiders won 25-8, 25-14, 25-12.

“The energy was good tonight,” said Wingers head coach Heidi Ulwelling, “however, we are still trying to find out how to compete to Point 25. We are improving, unfortunately it doesn’t show in the scores.”

With starting libero Mary Anthony sitting out due to illness, sophomore Maria Furlong got the start, finishing with a team-high 12 digs. Abby Johnson chipped in with 10 digs.

A plus for Ulwelling and the Wingers was the play of their blockers. Macy Kelly and Kelsey Hager each had two block assists, and Mariah Book had a solo block in the loss.

Red Wing (4-19, 0-5 Missota) resumes league play next Thursday, hosting New Prague on Senior Night for the team’s home finale.
