Cross-Country: Trost wins again at Trinity invite

As she has done all fall, Cannon Falls junior runner Emi Trost dominated on the cross-country course, taking first place in the Trinity Invitational at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington on Tuesday.
Finishing the 4,000-meter race in 14 minutes, 15 seconds, Trost blew out the competition, beating her nearest competitor, Theresa Mueller of Trinity School, by 51 seconds.
Along with Trost, the Bombers had a pair of top 20 finishers, with Katherine Hoffman (16:48) and Emma Thomley (17:20) finishing in 12th and 17th, respectively, taking second in the team standings with 76 points. Host Trinity School had four top 10 finishers on the way to the team title with 31 points.
In the boys’ 5,000-meter race, Cannon Falls finished in fourth in the 10-team field with 124 points.
Taking top honors for the Bombers was junior Connor Rohr, who finished 19th at 18:49. Right behind Rohr, Cannon Falls had three racers finish within 10 seconds of each other with Bjorn Pearson (18:51), Tyler Wilson (18:56) and Karl Ritzman (19:01) taking 21st, 23rd and 25th, respectively.
With all five of its placers finishing in the top 12, Hastings won the boys team title with a score of 41. Trinity School (66) and St. Croix Prep (80) rounded out the top five. St. Croix Lutheran’s Matt McDermott finished in first place with a time of 17:06.
