YMCA briefs

Field trip

Boys and girls in kindergarten through grade 7 are invited to take a field trip Monday Oct. 8. The day will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature a trip to Frontenac State Park, as well as swimming at the Y. Cost is $30 per child or $20 for Y members.

Climbing wall

The climbing wall is open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. Anyone age 4 and older may climb. Cost is $1 per person. Non-members can come in and climb by purchasing a daily guest pass and paying $1 for the wall.

CPR training

A “CPR for the Professional Rescuer” class will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday Oct. 6. Anyone can register. Cost is $40.

Lifeguard training

Lifeguard training class will be held from Nov. 2-4. Anyone age 15 and older can register. Cost is $200.

Water Boot Camp

The Y’s newest water fitness class, Water Boot Camp, is offered at 9:15 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the lap pool and 9:15 a.m. Thursdays in the rec pool. It is a high intensity, low-impact workout that focuses on cardiovascular training, muscle toning, flexibility and coordination.
