Cleon Clare Baker, 68, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at Loving Residence in Red Wing.
Cleon Clare Baker, 68, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at Loving Residence in Red Wing.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1944, in Wabasha, to Floyd and Betty Baker. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1962. For several years, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, receiving the rank of 2nd Lt. On July 1, 1967, he married Margaret Gardlund. For 43 years, he was employed with Red Wing Shoe Company with their international sales division.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Red Wing Jaycees.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Margaret; three children, Matthew (Leslie) Baker, Jessica (Steve) Severson, and Joshua Baker; six grandchildren, Brandi, Wes, Xander, Zoey, Morgan, and Devon; one great-granddaughter, Addie; and three siblings, Dale (Judy) Baker, Yvonne (George) Lenertz, and Starlene Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Michael Way officiating. Burial will be in the Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
