Senior Claira Sullivan had a team-leading 12 kills as Zumbrota-Mazeppa defeated Byron in four sets Tuesday in Zumbrota.
The Cougars won 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20.
Junior Carley Henning had a good all-around night as Z-M (7-6, 5-2 HVL) moved above the .500 mark, finishing with seven kills, seven blocks and six ace serves. Junior Kalli Paukert added 10 set assists and seven kills, sophomore Hailey Dykes had five blocks, senior Geena Miller tallied 14 digs and junior Kaitlen Buck contributed 12 set assists.
The Cougars travel to face Rochester Lourdes Thursday.
