To the Editor:

It took a lot of people to make the annual Wagon Train for Youth a successful event that raised $4,340.75 for the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

On behalf of the Minnesota State Mounted Posse Association and the Winona County Mounted Posse Association, I thank the Winona County Fair Board for allowing us to stage the Wagon Train for Youth at the Winona County Fair Grounds. It was an excellent facility that served our purpose well.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources let us take the wagon train into Whitewater State Park. This was a beautiful highlight of the weekend, especially for those people coming from other parts of Minnesota where the land is considerably more flat.

People and organizations that contributed to the cause included Goodhue County Mounted Posse.

We had 11 wagons and twenty-two people on horseback alongside the wagon train.
