Barbara E. Frederixon, 79

Barbara Ellen Frederixon, age 79, of Goodhue, died Monday, Sept. 24, at the Zumbrota Care Center in Zumbrota, following a short battle with cancer.

Barbara was born April 1, 1933, in Whitehall, Wis., to Wilbur and Zina (Patterson) Osgood. Barbara was united in marriage to Wayne Frederixon on Aug. 11, 1951, in Blair, Wis. She was a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and the Goodhue Lioness Club.

Barbara was a devoted mother who loved to bless her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in any way that she could. She loved to bake them cookies and take them to the park close to her house. Her face would light up every time her grandchildren visited.

She was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan as well as an enthusiastic bowler.

Barbara is survived by four sons, Ronald (Judy) of Goodhue, Dana (Carol), Kerry (JoEllen), and David (DeAnn), all of Zumbrota; one daughter, Connie (James) Wendt of Zumbrota; 16 grandchildren, Shawn (Sandra) Frederixon, Kelli (Brian) Sontag, Scott (Laura) Frederixon, Thomas (Amy) Wendt, Bill Wendt, Michelle Holst, Melanie Frederixon, Tracie (Carlos) Valencia, Kyle Frederixon, Amy Frederixon, Kasey (Ryan Manuel) Frederixon, Adam (Natalie) Frederixon, Kirby Frederixon, Jared (Amy) Frederixon, Krystal (Andrew) Thomforde, and Allison Frederixon; 14 great-grandchildren, Connor, Kiara, and Sienna Frederixon, Aubrey and Lincoln Sontag, Caleb Smith, Justin Scheffler, Dylan Frederixon, Emilio Valencia, Tracyn Etycheson, Tucker, Brantley, and Sydney Frederixon, and Kipton Thomforde; three brothers, Gerald Osgood of Seattle, Wash., and Norman Osgood of Oak Creek, Wis.; Wayne (Joan) Osgood of Alexandria, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister-in-law Esther Osgood.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Goodhue. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church as well as 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Zumbrota Care Center Hospice Care.

Honorary bearers will be all of Barbara's grandchildren.
