Group pushes for statewide silica sand moratorium
Members of Environment Minnesota Research and Policy Center and others are pushing for a three-year state moratorium on new or expanded frac sand mining sites in Minnesota. A petition with more than 400 signatures will be sent to Gov. Mark Dayton.
Members of Environment Minnesota Research and Policy Center and others are pushing for a three-year state moratorium on new or expanded frac sand mining sites in Minnesota. A petition with more than 400 signatures will be sent to Gov. Mark Dayton.
The group also released a study this week called the Cost of Fracking about the environmental impact of frac sand mining, from pollution to roads.
