Get your swing on

Get your swing thing going when Jivin' Ivan and the Kings of Swing return to the Zumbrota State Theatre stage 7:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 28.

Ivan is Ivan Whillock, who played brass instruments in his band, the Blue Notes, back in the day when today's oldies were new. Now he's switched to guitar and six years ago formed another band, the Kings of Swing, to play music that gets toes tapping and hands clapping.

Other members of the band, based in Faribault, Minn., include Mike Hildebrandt, a multi-instrumentalist and member of the Minnesota Rock/Country Music Hall of Fame; vocalist Dallas Musselman; bass player Ben Brian; and drummer Mark Whillock, son of Ivan Whillock.

Competitive-level swing dancers Devin and Kendra, of Northfield, Minn., will perform during the show.
