Donald "Andy" Anderson, age 81, of Pepin, formerly of Stockholm, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Pepin Manor.

He was born in rural Stockholm on Feb. 9, 1931, to Fred and Edith (Hassel) Anderson. Donald was a lifelong member of Sabylund Lutheran Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. On Feb. 7, 1953, he married Beryl Deden in Red Wing. Donald farmed for 10 years and worked at SB Foot Tanning Co. for 44 years, retiring April 28, 1995. He served on the church council, as commander of the Maiden Rock Legion Post #158 from 1980-1981, and as mayor of Stockholm for 12 years, stepping down April 1995.

Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, hunting ginseng, camping, and time at the cabin.

He is survived by his wife, Beryl; four daughters, Deborah (Ron) Bystrom of Frontenac, Minn., Diane (Larry) Wahlund of Pepin, Sandy Anderson of Hayward, Wis., and Sue Curran of Red Wing, Minn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edith Anderson; stepfather, Edwin Wahlstrom; brother, Wilmar Anderson; sister, Florence Sundvall; half-brothers, Francis and Chester Wahlstrom; half-sister, Carol Kresbach.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Sabylund Lutheran Church, Lund, Wis. Visitation will also be Sunday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Sabylund Lutheran Church Cemetery.
