Girls Soccer: Lake City remains winless
Three straight goals by P-E-M sinks TigersBy: R-E Sports Staff, The Republican Eagle
The Lake City girls soccer team scored its first goal in four games, but the Tigers were unable to secure their first win of the season Monday, falling to Plainview-Elgin-Millville 4-1 in a non-conference match.
Things looked promising for Lake City midway through the first half, when Madison Marien set Trista Bremer up for a goal, putting the Tigers up 1-0. But the Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals before halftime to secure the victory.
Though his team dropped to 0-8 overall, Lake City head coach Mark Spence was encouraged by the play of his squad against P-E-M.
Still looking for the elusive first win, the Tigers return to Hiawatha Valley League action Thursday at Stewartville.
