After two consecutive losses Red Wing broke out for a 6-1 victory Thursday at Chaska.
Junior Emily Stegora continued her strong play for the Wingers at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Bri Forebrook, eighth-grader Emily Otteson won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and senior Kristen Anderson won a close match against Kayley Decour at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 7-5 (5), 6-3.
Red Wing’s depth showed again as the Wingers swept doubles play. Senior Katie Kelly and ninth-grader Solveig Christenson defeated Allie Reineke and Carly Lubinsky 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles while No. 2 doubles pair, sophomore Lauren Brooks and senior Megan Clemons, won 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1 against Taylor Flood and Emma Silkey. Juniors Katie Carlson and Serena Feehan won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 doubles against Rachel Werch and Natalie Volauka.
Red Wing hosts a tournament Saturday.
