Lions Club White Cane Days fundraiser will be this weekend

The Red Wing Lions Club will conduct its annual White Cane Days fundraiser Friday and Saturday Sept. 14 and 15 in Red Wing. Lions Club members will be located both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walmart, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the downtown Econofoods and 8 a.m. to noon at Hanisch Bakery.

The club uses 100 percent of profits raised for sight-supported needs, with the majority of funds supplying eyeglasses to needy children throughout the Red Wing School District. Some funds go to the Macular Degeneration Center, Minnesota Lions Children’s Eye Clinic and Minnesota Lions Eye Bank, all at the University of Minnesota.

Co-chairs for the event are Christopher Rayner and Fay Wallin.
