The Ellsworth girls tennis team struggled during tournament play at Baldwin-Woodville on Saturday as the Panthers failed to secure a win in the four-team tournament, which included Amery, Ashland and host Baldwin-Woodville.

In No. 2 singles, Ellsworth’s Stacie Peterson came the closest to a victory on Saturday. In first-round play, Peterson fell 6-2, 6-3 to Amery’s Abbey Marquand. Trying to regroup in the third-place match, Peterson fell to Ashland’s Molly Demars, 6-1, 6-4.

The Panthers will try and rebound Thursday when they travel to Durand.
