Red Wing School Board briefs
From the meeting of Sept. 4, 2012.
St. John’s students can participate in MSHSL activities
Red Wing School Board voted 6-0 Monday authorizing an agreement that would allow St. John’s Lutheran School students to participate in Minnesota State High School League activities with Red Wing School District.
The provisions of the agreement are outlined in MSHSL bylaws; St. John’s seventh- and eighth-grade students will be able to participate. The agreement will be for two years. St. John’s students will pay the same fees as public school students.
Fire lanes at high school will be enforced
The fire lanes at Red Wing High School will be more strongly enforced this year than they have been in the past, Supt. Karsten Anderson said. A board member had brought up concerns last winter about people parking in the fire lanes.
Unoccupied vehicles that are parked in fire lanes may now get ticketed or towed. Anderson said he also authorized the district to hire off-duty officers or other personnel to prevent drivers from parking in the fire lanes.
