10 days out for Sept. 5-16, 2012

Spotlight: The Humane Society of Goodhue County will host a benefit at the Sheldon Theatre 7 p.m. Saturday Sept. 15.

The non-profit organization located in Red Wing serves the community by caring for the area’s animals in need. Its mission is to protect animals by providing shelter, preventing animal over-population, promoting adoption and responsible pet ownership.

Ivory Bridge and Ivory Bridge Bluegrass Band will provide live music for the benefit. Ivory Bridge took its name from the earliest Martin guitars, some of which were originally built with bridges made entirely of ivory.

The Ivory Bridge Bluegrass Band is a self-stylized group that features dynamic and versatile vocals backed by an acoustic instrumentation. They present a repertoire of musical styles consisting of hard-driving bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, a capella and a variety of original tunes.

Tickets for the show are $22.50 for adults, $14.50 for students.
