Volleyball: Cannon Falls downs Red Wing

Cannon Falls made quick work of Red Wing Thursday with a 25-11, 25-10, 25-15 victory in Red Wing.

The Bombers got 13 kills from MaKenzie Franklin and 21 digs from Becca Vandenheuvel. Franklin also had four blocks and 11 digs. Lydia Franken led Cannon Falls with 15 assists.

Three players had four ace serves for the Bombers while the Wingers had just one ace serve for the match.

“These girls are learning a lot about the game,” Red Wing head coach Heidi Ulwelling said. “I think they handled it as well as they could and we can only go up from here.”

Macy Kelly led the Wingers with four kills and MaKenna Schaeffer led the team with nine digs.

“They’ll get it, it’s just a matter of playing,” Ulwelling said. “We’ve got a lot of inexperience out there.”
