Whether starting kindergarten or entering the final year of high school, students head to school on Tuesday. Some will approach the year with trepidation, others with enthusiasm and a few with boredom, feigned or real.
Whether starting kindergarten or entering the final year of high school, students head to school on Tuesday. Some will approach the year with trepidation, others with enthusiasm and a few with boredom, feigned or real.
No one knows what the next nine months will bring, of course, but each of us has a role in making this a successful year from the moment the bell rings.
Surely the onus is on the students, parents and educators, you say.
That is true. But whether you have a direct connection to a local district or not, you have a job to fill.
Doing what? You can support the students in our communities by attending a concert, game or academic event. You can engage a neighborhood child or teen in a conversation about school. You can find a way to volunteer in a classroom or after class.
Let’s put a little public effort into public education.
