Peters-Gakev wedding

Heather Peters and Hristofor (Chris) Gakev of Winona, Minn., were married March 30, 2012, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Winona. A second ceremony reaffirming their vows occurred May 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Goodhue, followed by a reception at Mount Frontenac Golf Club.

The Rev. Andrew Krause officiataed at both ceremonies.

The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Elizabeth Peters of Goodhue. The groom is the son of Emilia Zaharieva of Winona and Hristifor V. Gavek of Sofia, Bulgaria.

Maid of honor was Cheryl Peters, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alicia Neumann and Kathryn Tiedtke, sisters of the bride, and Courtney Vutov, sister in law of the groom.

Best man was Vassil Vutov, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Tihomir Bozadjiev, Jacek Slezak, Sasa Seremet and Igor Seremet.

Ushers were Matt Neumann and Steven Tiedtke, brothers in law of the bride. Personal attendants were Carly Grover and Merribeth Schrimpf, both cousins of the bride.

The bride is pursuing a double major of clinical laboratory science and biology - allied health at Winona State University.

Hristofor graduated from Cook's Institute of Electronic Engineering in 2003 with a degree in business administration.

They live in Winona.
