Truth-in-taxation hearing set for Dec. 3
The district’s annual truth-in-taxation meeting will be 6 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Red Wing High School Little Theater. The board’s regular meeting will be interrupted to hold the meeting.
Personnel changes
The board approved the following personnel changes:
New hires: Kristi Person, keyboarding/computer teacher at Twin Bluff Middle School, effective Aug. 24; Rebecca Zylstra, special education teacher at the high school, effective August 2012; Rebecca Lippert, computer teacher at Burnside, effective Aug. 12.
Reassignment: Ben Slagle, work experience teacher at Tower View, effective Aug. 27.
Resignations: Ron Wolter, van driver, effective July 1; Trepp Meyer, custodian at middle school, effective Aug. 17; Kristina Larson, educational assistant at Sunnyside, effective Aug. 6; Ross Herdina, reading teacher at high school, effective Aug. 13; Tina Thompson, preschool teacher at Colvill, effective Aug. 10; Alicia Hamilton, middle school cook, effective Aug. 7; Richard Curtis, custodian at Colvill, effective Aug. 13.
One-year unpaid child care leave: Nicole McQuiston, paraprofessional at Sunnyside, effective 2012-13 school year.
:In other news…
• The board approved a new restrictive procedures plan for the 2012-13 school year. Few changes were made from the previous plan. The plan outlines the use physical holding or seclusion of a student in an emergency situation.
• Meeting watch: Monday’s meeting lasted about one hour and 15 minutes. Board member Paul Kramp was absent.
