Back-to-school donations exceed United Way's goal
United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha and Pierce counties reports area residents donated more than 3,000 back-to-school items. The original goal was 500 items, but overwhelming support prompted the agency to raise the goal to 2,500, Executive Director Maureen Nelson said. Staff stopped counting Tuesday at 3,000.
