Red Wing resident Chap Achen won the fourth annual Wingman Triathlon Sunday in Red Wing.
Achen, who finished as runner-up last year, set a course record with his time of 56 minutes, 11 seconds for his first win in the event.
Achen held off Lakeville resident Kyle Serreyn, who finished in 56:42. Reed Steele, of Minneapolis, took third in 57:15 and Red Wing resident Matt Riley finished fourth in 59 minutes.
The 500-meter swim, 12.7-mile bike ride and 3 mile run drew 107 individual participants.
Julie Hull, of Farmington, won the women’s race with a course-record time of 1:06:31.
Hull finished seventh overall and won by more than a minute over Shelley Nelson, of Denver, for the title. Amanda Heinritz, of Northfield finished third in 1:14:07.
Red Wing’s Tanner Alms had the fastest swim time of 6:21 with Riley close behind in 6:29. Achen had a time of 7:28, but made up some time in the bike portion.
Achen had the best bike time of 30:49, which was more than a minute faster than his nearest competitor.
Steele had the fastest run time with a time of 16 minutes and Achen had the third-fastest time with a 16:55.
