Ellsworth man hurt in crash

A crash Tuesday night on 450th Avenue near 750th Street in Trimbelle Township injured a 51-year-old rural Ellsworth man. Rock Erlandson was driving westbound when his vehicle was struck by one driven by Sandra McCarty, 48, also of rural Ellsworth, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Erlandson was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing with non-life threatening injuries. McCarty was not injured.

It appears McCarty was turning left into her driveway on 450th Avenue when she turned into the path of Erlandson’s vehicle, according to the department. The crash remains under investigation.

Ellsworth Area Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
