Zion Covenant gets interim pastor

With roots tracing back to 1884, Zion Covenant Church as seen many changes over the years.

With roots tracing back to 1884, Zion Covenant Church as seen many changes over the years. The most recent in the departure of senior Pastor Corey Johnsrud, who left Ellsworth for a new ministry opportunity in northern California in early July.

Zion's leadership team is in the process of forming the search committee to fill the position. In the meantime, the Rev. Dave Hugare is serving as full-time interim pastor with office hours 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Hugare has more than 15 years of ministry experience, spending most of his career as a youth pastor and “church planter.” He has served congregations in Maple Grove, Woodbury and Hastings, Minn. He is a graduate of Northwestern College and Bethel Theological Seminary, both in St. Paul.
