Red Wing invites folks to rock, roll and run again this year during River City Days. The community’s 30th annual summer celebration is again heavy on old-fashioned fun.

The festival had seen better days five years or so ago, but Joe Dube assembled a grass-roots, volunteer-driven team that breathed new life into the first weekend in August. That the festival continues to evolve — as it involves different and more people working behind the scene every year — is testament to his belief that community participation is key.

You’ll find plenty of crafts, carnival-style games, sporting contests, entertainment and pageantry Friday, Saturday and Sunday ... right here in our river city. Join in.
