Public comment open regarding southeast collector
Goodhue County Public Works director Greg Isakson told the board Tuesday that he will soon sign the Environmental Assessment Worksheet required by the state for the construction of the southeast collector. “I just wanted to let you know we’re moving forward on this,” he said. “It’ll be out there for the public.”
Once the EAW is sent to the Environment Quality Board, it is published and a 30-day comment period begins. Isakson said he expects the document to be published Aug. 6.
“It’s not controversial,” Isakson told county commissioners. “It should sail right through.”
Assuming no adverse comments come out of the public comment period, the issue will likely come back to the board on Sept. 18. If comments do arise, a public hearing may be scheduled.
