Tom Gwaltney, former Lake City Serpents pitcher, manager and bankroller, died this morning.
Gwaltney, 70, was inducted into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. He was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, four and a half years ago.
The family announced his passing on the Caring Bridge website.
