Woman shot with BB gun

A woman was shot in the arm with a BB gun while she was standing in the front yard of a Red Wing house.

Jane Markwed, 47, Lake City, was pushing a 16-month-old baby on a swing at 843 Elm St., when the BB hit the back of her arm.

Police later located a 12-year-old male who said he had shot the BB gun at a sign and that the BB must have ricocheted off, hitting the woman. Police Chief Tim Sletten said the woman was not treated for injuries.
