The body of a 65-year-old man presumed drowned was found Friday night near the railroad lift bridge on the St. Croix River, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department reported.
A citizen near the public dock area saw the body and called officers. When they responded they confirmed it was Merriett Maul Jr, of Welch. Divers and authorities had been searching for the man since he fell off a courtesy dock in Prescott into the water on Tuesday night and did not resurface.
No foul play is suspected in the incident, the department reported.
