Divers search for man who possibly drowned in St. Croix River

Authorities are searching for a 65-year-old man who possibly drowned in the St. Croix River Tuesday evening, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Authorities are searching for a 65-year-old man who possibly drowned in the St. Croix River Tuesday evening, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The man, whose name has not been released, was reported to have fallen off a courtesy dock in Prescott around 8:15 p.m. He did not resurface.

Water patrols attempted to locate the man using sonar and divers, but were unsuccessful. The search will continue today.

Prescott Fire and Ambulance, the Prescott Dive Team and sheriff’s departments from Dakota, Washington and St. Croix counties assisted on the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
